Re: Trailer registration

This hasn't gone away... The trailer registration service has gone into public Beta phase today, and now both trailers I occasionally need to take to Europe are now registered. The system requires a 17 digit serial number, plus manufactuer of trailer, the unladen weight and the maximum gross weight....

Trailer registration

As if there isn't enough going on with Brexit and maxing tax digital, the government are proposing to register trailers when in use in Europe. It may affect Mono competitors or those running customer cars. An email received today: Important information on trailer registration plates for registered n...

Rockingham 24/25 November

As you are all probably aware, the Rockingham Motor Speedway is set to close at the end of this season, with no further racing activity planned at the venue. Whilst many people dislike the circuit, its a challenging technical circuit and the closure of any circuit is not good news. There is talk of ...

Castle Combe 15.09.2018

On the same day as the Castle Combe Tiedeman Rounds, Castle Combe are running their own single seater race, so if you have an extra driver, or are simply a glutton for punishment, then there is an extra 15m quali and race available... Qualifying is after Mono, so can't use it as free practice in adv...

Snetterton -Breckland Lodge flambé

Breckland Lodge hotel which is the nearest hotel to Snetterton suffered a major fire today which will cause them problems for some months. For those who have booked accommodation or were thinking about it, you may need to consider other hotels nearby. Whilst the fire wasn’t in the bedrooms - it was ...

Re: Live snatching of stranded race cars

Using the most recent race as an example. Qualifying was redflagged due to Andrew Barron ending up just off the exit kerbing in the gravel at Old Hairpin. Session ended up red flagged after 12 mins. A safety car wouldn't have achieved anything, nor would yellow flags in that section, so most sensibl...

Live snatching of stranded race cars

I noticed that 750MC were happy to perform live snatches with telehandlers under double waved yellows, whereas MSVR would have released the safety car to recover those cars.

Thoughts?

Re: Placement of Go Pro Cameras

No particular restriction, except not on your helmet.

Depends what you want if for, you get most as a driver aid if you can see your steering action, but you can get interesting shots by mounting elsewhere.

Re: Cadwell Entry Fee

I believe that when you buy track time, as well as track time you are buying mopping up time to clear dead or stricken cars before the next session starts. Compared to the Trackday Trophy referenced above, they have the same or similar track time but less sessions, so less mop up sessions to pay for...
