Silverstone Garage Share - Nov 23rd?

I'm testing at Silverstone GP on Nov 23rd and garages are shockingly expensive - would anyone like to share? I believe the day's running from the old pits.

Re: New to Mono racing

Nick Skidmore's advertising some F3 Cup tyres right now over on the 'For Sale' area. Nick's a good guy, very knowledgeable and reliable etc:

Re: What is the best way to make the ideal seat?

Thanks - I've ordered some self adhesive foam and I'll use that for the lumbar area.

Lifting the seat in and out has caused some cracks and bits to fall off where it's thin, but I've taped it back together again so hopefully that's ok.

Thanks for your tips - I hope they're useful to others too.

Re: What is the best way to make the ideal seat?

The seat last year never cured properly, so we never got to find out how much needed to be trimmed. I'm trimming the second attempt today and it's not too much - perhaps a litre in total? The 50L was definitely way too small for me - we ordered one last year and had to send it back. Thanks very much...

Re: What is the best way to make the ideal seat?

By the way, if it helps J Chapman, I have a carbon tubbed F Renault, am 1.77m tall and weigh 70kg and needed 61L of beads to make the seat (a 70L kit with 9L removed). This was the same as the last kit I attempted for this car last year.

Re: What is the best way to make the ideal seat?

A couple of questions if I may, and I'll ask on the forum as it may help others: 1) Am I supposed to remove (cut away) the vacuum bag before covering with the tape? 2) Is it normal for the thinner areas of the seat, i.e. the sides and the portion under my legs, to be flexible? The area under my back...

Re: What is the best way to make the ideal seat?

Thanks Tristan. I couldn't find a seat fitter in the end, so the guy who rebuilt my car is helping me make one tomorrow. I'll order some tape now.

What width of TESA tape would you recommend Tristan?

Re: Getting an 'Indi Seat' Fitted Professionally?

Thanks, I'll assume there's two side to this story and something has genuinely cropped up out of their control at the last second and for some reason they couldn't contact me. I'll try to make do for Friday with bits of sponge etc and fingers crossed I can get a seat made in time for the next test a...

Re: Getting an 'Indi Seat' Fitted Professionally?

Thanks Tristan - info much appreciated. I want to get this one right, so it sounds best to wait. I have an old seat for someone else I can use on Friday and I'll throw some towels or sponges on it. Sorry if my post was a bit ranty - I needed to vent! I actually first contacted them in May last year ...

Getting an 'Indi Seat' Fitted Professionally?

Can anyone recommend someone experienced who can fit a bead style 'Indi-Seat' professionally? I've done a couple before with mixed results, but this time around for a new car I wanted to spend a bit of money getting it done properly (I have back problems and a good seat is essential to me). I arrang...

Re: How fast is Formula E?

That's really interesting, thanks, I'd often wondered that but never looked it up. JEV's time is now being listed on Wikipedia as a new lap record for Formula E. The F3 lap record (obviously a free ride height with more power than Mono F3) is listed as just over 2 seconds faster than Ben's fastest M...

Thank you Steve. Sadly I'm on holiday then and can't attend, but I look forward to seeing the results of the meeting.
