Re: New Mono Website

Good point Andy, I'll edit that. The forum is also on the LINKs menu at the top. Thanks Andrew, but I alway though that "Links" referred to external links, so I wouldn't have thought to look there. Might justbeme, though. Some web sites have a "Site Map" button for "internal links", I would have lo...

Re: New Mono Website

Just one thing, the "button" for the forum wasn't obvious to me. I clicked on a few things until I found it. And am I right in thinking that the logo to be clicked on has a "third" place on it, an odd choice otherwise very smart!

Re: Monoposto, should it expand?

I read in Autosport about a fortnight ago that the Autosport Young Guns series, which was run for the first time this season, using JKS cars with Suzuki 750cc engines has decided to switch from JKS chassis to the old Formula BMW chassis for next season. There is already a number of cars on the mark...

Re: Monoposto, should it expand?

Recreate a "F5000" type series with older F3000 tpe chasis fitted with Chevy LS7 engines or similar.

Re: Monoposto, should it expand?

Mono 3000? for all those BOSS & EuroBoss racers who don't seem to able to organise themselves without falling out with each other.

Combine with Irish F Libre

There must be hundereds of F3000 cars waiting to be raced by idle oil traders bored of counting their cash piles (or just their piles).

Re: Something to do in Winter

How about Taupo - now that A1 GP is no more, Pete Bragg would be the biggest draw the circuit gets.

Return flights to Auckland from about £480 in late October early November.

Re: Hans Device

When I started racing a few years ago, in Mono as it happens, I convinced my wife it was all as safe as possible. However, she is a very bright woman (despite working for the Health & Safety Laboratory) & asked me to ensure that if I did ever have a bad accident to ensure that it killed me because t...

Re: Hans Device

There is no doubt that the facilites/ infrastucture at Mallory are poor but the run off has been increased this year at several areas and I would argue that its no worse in many areas now than at Oulton Park & is better than Cadwell in many places.

Re: Hans Device

Not heard any mention of fakes elsewhere but I suppose its possible. FWIW, MSAR are a reputable company & the thermoplastic "Sport" versions are genuine & to the required spec. In my vew they also have the advantage of the side "flip ups" (see the photo in the link) to help keep the belts from slidi...

Re: Hans Device

You can buy the "Sport" version much cheaper at £395 + VAT here: http://www.msar-safety.com/detail.asp?p=148&o=20°_SPORT_HANS_Device_(Medium) The Sport version is very slightly heavier - c 20 grammes, I think - which I doubt matters in a 20-30 minute race. They are made of thermoplastic rather than ...

Yes, receive the first issue some time ago. Not sure when the second issue is due out (any time now?). It won't be sold in WH Smiths or anywhere else - its subscription only, suposedly paid for by advertising.

Re: Mallory's crumbling paddock

To be fair (!) the BARC have invested in the place - they have increased run off in many areas (including the hairpin), new barriers, moved spectator banking back etc.

The Paddock is shocking but hopefully they will get the money together to sort it at some point.
