Re: Mallory's crumbling paddock

I was there a few weeks ago - the paddock is worse IMHO. Increase the ride height!!!

Re: Eligibility Question

Just the sort of thing to be different in Mono 1600:

Re: What do people think of this?

Like Jim, I think I can make a reasonable stab at being an anorak and enjoy following club racing. I think the key is not to try to do race reports but to try to have a selection of news items and features.

Re: What do people think of this?

Andrew I hope this happens. I am certainly one that looks at the club/ national bit of Autosport first, however, it will be a lot of work. Is it worth talking to the people behind 10-Tenths to see if you can get some sort of link up with them - lots of people seem to post race reports or photos on t...

Andy,

Interesting, like you I was a enthusiastic subscriber to 'Circuit Driver', can you explain further? By email if necessary.

Re: Track & Race Car

I used to get it on subscription several years ago but found that the publication dates were very variable and the quality of the writing & editing very poor. I spoke to Keith about getting involved with Mono when I still had the Vauxhal Junior, so that must have been about 5 years ago, and although...

Re: 2010 Calender!

i would love to got to Spa again but i think it will be difficult to get enough to commit. Probably be cheaper to buy car to do the cscc sport car race tthat they run at Spa. Or rent a shared drive off me!!! Potentially a Fiat Uno available for two to share (if it does not sell), or a shared drive ...

Re: 2010 Calender!

On a personal note, I am disapointed that you are only on the CSCC bill twice in 2010. Oh well.

Re: 2010 Calender!

I'm not sure whether Mono is again intending to do a fair few meetings with the CSCC but if so there is a DRAFT CSCCC calendar on their website.

Re: Eligibility Question

I see that Michael Mallock ran a front engined Mallock Mk 9 in the Walter Hayes Trophy (F Ford 1600) and did very well, whilst Ray Mallock ran a Mallock Mk 18B in the HSCC Open Wheel race against Classic F3 March & Chevron B25 single seaters (and came second) so it must be possible to run Clubmans t...

Re: Worthy of Awards

And as for going over to the darkside i did find driving the ex works touring car of Andy's tghe best fun ever! i love open wheel racing but it did open my eyes to another fun pass time which i am already looking into! AVIT! Just to clarify - "ex works", yes; "touring car", well sort of. Not a Supe...

Re: Worthy of Awards

Ah, but Ewen moved over to the "dark side" at Snetterton & raced my Toyota saloon in the CSCC Tin Tops race! Now he has seen the light I'm not sure that he'll want to be seen in a single seater again! If its good enough for Johnny Herbert then its good enough for AVIT obviously! Mind you, he was rud...

Re: Eligibility Question

The Monoposto Championship is for Single Seater Racing cars which definition in the Blue Book states 'the construction must be symmetrical' and 'when weighed without driver the half weight either side must be equal to half the weight +/- 5%. Am I correct that some later Mallocks have offset engines...

Re: Eligibility Question

Tony, they were probably both. Clubmans always used to have A Sports for 1700 Crossflows (C 170-180 Bhp) and B Sports for FF 1600 engined cars. These both now populate "Classic Clubmans". The Rover K Series became the mainstay in the early 1990s, I think, replacing B Sport whilst, A Sport was replac...
