Re: Donington round slipping away?

I listened to Simon Gillet today at the Autosport show and, interestingly, he said that the existing run offs were adequate for F1 & that there was no plans to increase the run offs on the existing bits of the track. The track is due to re-open on Feb 20 2009 . The current track closure is only due ...

Re: GPR

Nick

I think that Stephen is right, I had heard that the Minshaws bought DT back (having pocketed a fair wedge of cash!) & then bought GPR about a year ago with the proceeds. GPR were supposed to be sponsoring CSCC Tin Tops in 2008 but it all went pear shaped because of the change in ownership!

Re: GPR

Don't think that there was any competition between GPR & DT anyway - there prices always seemed to be the same to me. I heard that the Minshaws had bought GPR about a year ago. Doesn't mean that GPR are not going down, though.

Re: Calander!

Andrew - re Anglesey Please can you explain barren? Do you mean background on the infield? For us civvies watching the 2 litre race it's great as you can see almost the whole circuit from one point. When driving, the changes in contour and the contrast in style of corner, including the interesting ...

Re: Calander!

CSCC have released their provisional 2009 calendar. http://www.classicsportscarclub.co.uk/Calendar%202009%20and%20Entry%20Forms.html That is assuming Mono is going with CSCC this year and not a BARC / BRSCC / 750MC or as a support race for the BTCC. Not sure that Mono is doing that many meetings wi...

Re: F4 marches on?

Please have a look at this thread on "Ten-Tenths", and in particular, Post No. 34:

I don't think its for me to keep trying to defend/promote Mono against F4 anymore, its up to one of you guys to take up the cudgels!

Re: Who can use out of date seat belts?

Seat belts used in race cars are essentially the same as those used in aircraft and yet the RAF, RN and Army have an inspection regime for cuts to webbing or contamination with oil etc but no mandatory replacement date. More MSA rubbish.

Where's the Royal Navy when a colonial needs them? Aren't they down the job center these days? "Job wanted. Can clean, cook and kill. Very punctual. Prefers armed transport and communal showers." Well, the RN is much smaller than it used to be but it is still deployed to many areas of high threat. ...

I hope that the club have noted the discussions going on about the future of FF1600 wrt Kent Vs Duratec engines (see Autosport 6 Nov 2008). It will surely have an affect on Mono 1600 (and maybe Mono 1800) in one way or another. Best to plan, somehow, for the inclusion of Duratec cars to the same reg...

I started this thread off because I am concerned that F4 has spotted the potential to attract new members to its grids that Mono could have also attracted. F4 has spotted that the F Renaults have lost their main series and have offered them a home where thay can have their own class; they have activ...

F750 caters for a significantly different type of car to Mono. The (complex and detailed) regulations are readily available from their website. Some key differentiators: Limited engine choice - mostly 1800cc or elderly 2000cc 8 valvers 4 speeds, no LSDs significantly different minimum weights 505-5...
